About Me

Overcoming stress, depression and illness to support you to fulfil your potential and create a life you can feel proud of

Simon020

Hi, I'm Simon

I’m a certified coach, mental health advocate and founder of Worth Talking.

I love helping people achieve all that they want from life and to feel like they are realising their full potential. Realising potential is a big part of my why.

Near the start of 2022 I was slumped in my car waiting for an ambulance. I was numb in my arms, legs and face. I was struggling to breathe. I thought I was having a heart attack and I was pretty scared. My thoughts went initially towards my kids and my partner but quickly moved to self-criticism. I started to beat myself up. Why hadn't I taken better care of myself. Why hadn't I done more with my life. Here I was facing the end and all I could think about was that I hadn't made the most of my time, I hadn't realised my potential.

This is why I am now passionate about not just unlocking my own potential, but feel on a mission to support individuals and organisations to fulfil their potential and create a future they can be proud of.

The start of that journey to fulfilling our potential, I believe, starts with our relationship with ourselves. Our identity, who we are, what is important to us, and crucially how we speak to ourselves. The key is to understand and accept ourselves and be intentional in everything we do.

Coaching and developing others has long been a passion of mine, both through my professional career developing the staff I managed and also through coaching rugby. I’m an RFU Level 2 Rugby Coach and have coached both adults and children, men and women, boys and girls.

My biggest passion though is Formula One!

As a result of my experiences with coaching in my personal and professional life, I decided to develop my passion for helping people and launch my own professional service in 2018. So, Worth Talking was born!

My training & experience

I studied with The Centre for Coaching at The British Psychological Society in London. I’m a Member of The Association for Coaching and a Mental Fitness Coach with Positive Intelligence®️

Additionally I hold Certificates with The Institute for Leadership, The Association of Business Mentors and I’m an adult and Youth Mental Health First Aider.

Before I ventured down this path, I worked in a management capacity for various organisations, from start-ups to independently-owned companies and large corporations. I’ve worked across account management, sales and business development, business analytics and project management.

As a manager, I have had to understand people on an individual level, getting to know them and their needs to ensure I got the best out of them. All of this real-world experience has helped immeasurably with my coaching today.

My philosophy

My philosophy is a simple one. Helping one person might not change the world, but it might change the world for that one person.

I create a compassionate, non-judgemental space for you to feel free to explore who you are, who you want to be and what you want your life to look like.

Through my rugby coaching, I realised that my pride and satisfaction were not around winning matches or tournaments but in developing a player’s confidence, self-belief and enjoyment. In fact, I have always been passionate about helping others achieve their goals and get to where they want to be.
